ABOUT THE JOB

The Associate Director, Customer Strategy oversees Healthcare Professional (HCP) marketing, strategic insights and analytics in partnership with heads of consumer marketing. This position leads the development of our customer strategy in order to ensure a clear and consistent product portfolio message is articulated across audiences. A highly cross-functional role, the  Associate Director of Customer Strategy has a constant pulse on FMI’s product and service offerings and helps ensure that all Field team members use the tools they need to effectively engage our partners. 

Specifically, this role equips National Account Managers (NAMs) and Strategic Relationship Managers (SRMs) with resources to engage with customer C-suite personnel, contracting leaders, practice administrators, and medical directors. Notably, this person partners closely with our strategic relationship management team on the execution of corporate responses to request for proposals and information from key customers. Further, this role supports the customer strategy for Oncology and non-Oncology stakeholders e.g. Pathology, Interventional Radiology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and articulation of our downstream product portfolio strategy.
  • Partner with commercial operations, strategy and analytics to ensure strategy is informed by the most important customers insights, can be effectively executed and measured.
  • Develop meaningful storytelling materials including pitch-decks, presentations, and other tools that effectively communicate Foundation Medicine’s value proposition to customers.
  • Coordinate the cross-functional response to customer “request for proposals”.
  • Partner with Product Marketing team members to ensure messaging and tactics align with strategic plans.
  • Work with marketing promotions and design teams to ensure collateral effectively reflects Foundation Medicine’s messaging and brand identity.
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence without authority.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Contributes to other projects as periodically assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare professional marketing.
  • Experience in-house at a biotechnology, device or pharmaceutical company.
  • 1+ year(s) of people management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s of Business Administration Degree.
  • Consulting or professional services experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Strategic analytics experience.
  • 3+ years people management experience.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that include excellent collaboration and problem solving.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and importance of patient data privacy.
  • Identification with FMI’s values: patients, passion, innovation, and collaboration.
