The FMI Internship Program is offered to students currently registered in a degree program. It is a 10-12 week summer commitment, Full Time, 40 hours/week. Interns will gain a greater understanding of FMI through challenging project based work, Lunch & Learns with company executives, and the chance to connect with all employees by attending many other company-wide events. 

About The Job

The Intern, Biopharma Data Products & Strategy (MBA) supports the Real World Evidence Solutions Lifecycle Team in developing and executing data product strategy and in particular strategy related to biopharma partners of FMI. The role actively participates on a cross-functional team of product managers, data scientists, design researchers, and members of the extended FMI organization in order to inform new product development and the approach to biopharma data product commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop product strategy for novel products targeted at biopharma stakeholders and use cases, based on real world data platforms.
  • Partner with the lifecycle team leader to identify key goals and develop project plan(s).
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop preliminary hypotheses for testing.
  • Conduct voice of customer research and secondary research into the competitive environment to identify stakeholder pain points and to develop and prioritize potential use cases.
  • Partner with the lifecycle team and stakeholders (from design, data science, and engineering) to assess feasibility and develop a high-level product roadmap.
  • Develop simple product prototypes and test with key biopharma stakeholders to revise and prioritize the roadmap.
  • Make recommendations to the lifecycle team about options to pursue.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program pursuing an MBA.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2+ years of prior work experience in an analytical, problem-solving strategic function.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences, biomedical engineering, or in an equivalent scientific or business/analytical field.
  • 2+ years of prior life science or biopharmaceutical industry experience either in an operating role or an indirect role (e.g. consulting).
  • Strong familiarity with healthcare language and terminology.
  • History of successfully leading or influencing cross-functional product teams through strategic and competitive analyses, product road mapping, and feature prioritization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills for a variety of audiences (levels, functions, backgrounds).
  • Demonstrated self-sufficiency, creative problem solving, organization and attention to detail.
  • Business acumen and comfort dealing with ambiguity.
  • Ability to:
    • maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive company matters;
    • work in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy.
