The FMI Internship Program is offered to students currently registered in a degree program. It is a 10-12 week summer commitment, Full Time, 40 hours/week. Interns will gain a greater understanding of FMI through challenging project based work, Lunch & Learns with company executives, and the chance to connect with all employees by attending many other company-wide events. 
About The Job

The Intern, Biopharma assists in mining information in our databases about clinical trials that FMI has supported over the past several years. The intern organizes and collates information, identifies information gaps, and develops strategies to ensure meaningful data analysis. The intern organizes the information in a digestible format and provides recommendations to the team about opportunities that may yield the most benefit or provide value.

Foundation Medicine is unable to consider candidates that will require visa sponsorship now, or in the future, for this specific role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional biopharma team in organizing information from both internal and publicly available data sources.
  • Identify gaps in the data and work proactively to fill in the gaps.
  • Analyze information to look for patterns and trends.
  • Develop insights based on an in-depth look at FMI’s trial portfolio.
  • Make recommendations for future approaches and value creation opportunities based on analysis of historical data.
  • Other projects as periodically assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Rising senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Business Analytics, Marketing, Data Analytics, Statistics or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a minor in biology or life science.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, and in other database tools.
  • Experience working on projects that involve data analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that include excellent skills in written communication, oral communication, collaboration, and problem solving.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Curiosity about oncology targeted therapy development and novel trial designs that support targeted therapy development, including biomarker-gated trials.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy.
