Director, Biopharma Assay Products Leader

About the Job

The Director, BioPharma Assay Products Leader is a key member of the BioPharma Team in Portfolio & Partner Solutions, a group responsible for:

  • defining the strategic direction of FMI’s portfolio of offerings for biopharma partners, &
  • accelerating opportunities with biopharma partners to pull-through FMI’s solutions across the drug development value chain   

 

In this role, you will work collaboratively and cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and our biopharma partners to drive the development & delivery of assay products that can address our partners growing needs and ensure optimal product-market fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • BioPharma (BP) lead & strategic thought partner to one or more product lifecycle teams (LCTs) contributing to the development, enhancement & launch of assays​ to biopharma
  • Represent the voice of our biopharma customers at LCT and sub-team levels to provide guidance and recommendations to support meeting of partner needs 
  • Deliver launch strategy, planning and training for new products or product enhancements to BP team
  • Lead cross-functional/BP working groups required to advance BP or LCT goals ​
  • Identify issues and resolutions for items affecting the business or our partnerships​
  • In support of BP partnership leads, engage partners as a subject matter expert and a trusted collaborator to drive partnership innovation, development & adoption of our assays​
  • Shape & deliver together with Marketing, the collateral & messaging for assay launches, changes or enhancements​
  • Lead regular portfolio meetings to provide line-of-sight and foster strategic dialogue and planning around our internal and biopharma pipeline ​
  • As a member of Portfolio & Partner Solutions, you will ensure the overarching BioPharma strategy appropriately leverages existing & future opportunities around our assay products
  • In partnership with SIA&E (Strategic Insights, Analytics & Enablement), keep BP team abreast of key technology, competitor and business trends in the market
  • Maintain availability to work outside of a regularly scheduled shift 
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time (estimate post COVID)
  • Lead/support other projects as periodically assigned  

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business or a scientific discipline
  • 8+ years marketing, BD or product management experience in a diagnostic company

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced  degree in business or scientific discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical/biotech/diagnostics industry
  • Previous experience working in biopharma or diagnostics
  • Understanding of ctDNA/diagnostics and its application to biopharma development
  • Good understanding of diagnostics and the drug development & commercialization
  • Depth of knowledge of global oncology therapeutics and biomarker markets
  • Ability to translate customer/market needs into product technical & strategic requirements
  • Demonstrated program or product management skills gained within the diagnostics or pharma industry
  • Successful Product launch experience with clinical and/or biopharma stakeholders
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, and the fast-paced changes that result in a precision medicine organization
  • Effective communicator able to influence cross-functionally and without authority
  • Experience working in dynamic and growing teams; demonstrated ability to operate and deliver in a fast pace environment and with ambiguity
  • Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data
