About the Job

The Director, BioPharma Partnership Development builds growth strategies for their defined universe of accounts, enabling strategic expansion of existing partnerships​ as well as the acquisition of new emerging partners​. This individual leads a team comprising of Business Development (BD) functions that lead the development of new deals and ensure deep customer satisfaction and excellence in bringing both current products (delivered by the Life Cycle Teams) and new solutions (from the Strategy & Innovation Team) to customers​.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of the annual growth strategy and plan for a defined universe of accounts.
  • Provides external and internal senior deal support to team members on certain strategic/complex transactions.
  • Supports respective BD individuals in the development of strategic account plans for certain strategic accounts.
  • Engages in and supports external-facing discussions and builds strong relationships with key decision makers within an identified set of strategic accounts.
  • Be accountable for execution of strategic plan to grow and expand business within defined universe of accounts, with objectives and key results (OKRs) linked to success.
  • Builds a deep understanding of the oncology landscape within their defined universe of accounts and translates key trends and market events to business opportunities or headwinds.
  • Serves as a thought partner to biopharma companies on their precision medicine initiatives and identifies new, innovative partnership opportunities across FMI’s products and solutions.
  • Serves as first point of escalation on any issue arising for any partnership within defined universe of accounts.
  • Maintains availability to work outside of a regularly scheduled shift.
  • Travels domestically up to 30% of the time.
  • Other projects as periodically assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a scientific discipline
  • 10+ years of professional business development/alliance management experience or life science tools sales
  • Experience at a diagnostics or data/insights company with a focus in Oncology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in business or a scientific discipline
  • 8+ years of professional business development / life science sales experience in a diagnostic or data / insights company with a focus in Oncology
  • Scientific and strong business/business development experience; term sheet of proven deals and closure of R&D and commercialization agreements across industries with a B2B model
  • Strong knowledge and credibility in the oncology market, both US and internationally
  • Sales background focused capital equipment and/or consumable sales
  • Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data
  • Commitment to FMI values: patients, innovation, collaboration, and passion
