Director, BioPharma Trial Solutions Leader

About the Job

The BioPharma Trial Solutions Leader is a key member of the BioPharma Business Unit (BU) in Portfolio & Partner Solutions, a group responsible for defining the future direction of FMI’s portfolio of offerings for Biopharma partners and accelerating opportunities to pull-through FMI’s solutions across the drug development value chain. The Trial Solutions Leader is responsible for developing and championing oncology clinical trial solutions as a part of the BioPharma BU at FMI. This role works cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders and provides leadership to shape customer-driven, competitive offerings to support FMI’s biopharma partners with planning and executing more efficient clinical trials in a way that can leverage and grow FMI’s core products and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, drive and embed a strategic roadmap of clinical trial solutions and offerings to compliment FMIs profiling business in support of Partner Clinical Trials.

• Partner closely with FMI’s Clinical Operations and Data Management team in order to successfully execute the strategy and operationalize the solutions/offerings.

• Translate business and market needs into customer requirements, and work cross-functionally to define product and technical requirements that satisfy market needs.

• Together with partner leads, engage customers as a subject matter expert supporting partnership pitches and providing feedback internally to drive continual product innovation, development & adoption.

• Shape and deliver, in partnership with Marketing, product messaging & collateral for launch of new solutions to biopharma.

• Define Go To Market strategy including pricing model both as a stand-alone product offering and combined with Profiling or Data services, accountability for launch strategy, planning and training.

• With input from partner leads and Clinical Operations and Data Management, and in collaboration with the Strategic Insights and Analytics team, lead discussions on relevant partnership trends/milestones, partner needs, and competitor movements.

• Partner with Corporate Development to establish strategic partnerships with external companies to expand FMI’s trial solutions offerings.

• Be responsible for project design and implementation, market and financial forecasting and financial modeling.

• Lead project prioritization efforts that represent a balanced view of trade-offs around revenue and value generated from across our trial solutions.

• Develop the business case for new opportunities to support go/no-go decisions and investment decisions.

• Flag issues and propose resolution for items affecting the BU or our partnerships; escalate as necessary.

• As a member of Portfolio & Partner Solutions, ensure the overarching BU strategy leverages existing & future opportunities around our core assay products.

• Travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business or a scientific discipline

• 10+ years of experience in product or program management or consulting in the biopharmaceutical/biotech/diagnostics industry

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in business or scientific discipline

• Product launch experience gained from within biopharmaceutical or diagnostics industry

• Experience working in dynamic and growing teams; demonstrated ability to operate and deliver in a fast pace environment and with ambiguity

• Depth of knowledge of drug development & clinical operations

• Working knowledge of genomics and RWD and their place in optimizing the drug development value chain

• Ability to translate customer/market needs into product technical & strategic requirements; ability to develop compelling, new perspectives on existing solutions

• Ability to account for implications with an enterprise-wide mindset across product lines and across Biopharma and Clinical customer segments

• Effective communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally and without authority

• Strong business acumen and analytical thinking and communication skills

• Understanding of HIPAA, GDPR and importance of privacy of patient data
