Enterprise Architect

About the Job

The Enterprise Architect provides end-to-end architecture support and guidance to business and technology stakeholders. This position plays a key role on mission critical programs and technology initiatives in support of transforming cancer care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to define highly resilient cloud-native architectures.
  • Assist software engineering teams with identifying security and compliance risks.
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, architecture discussions.
  • Establish a clear consistent technology vision through collaboration, influence, and enablement.
  • Partner with leadership and stakeholders to identify barriers to execution and opportunities for technology innovation.
  • Suggest and evangelize the new capabilities using the latest technologies with proven prototypes.
  • Devote time to learning about the target domain including genomics, cancer, and personalized healthcare.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • 3+ years of experience as a software, systems, or enterprise architect

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field
  • Demonstrated career progression from an implementer role to accountability for defining and outlining solutions and overseeing their implementations
  • Experience with all aspects of end-to-end architecture for a business service including business, data, application, and technology architectures;
    • Data and systems integration and related patterns;
    • Business case and business scenario creation and development;
    • Business process, role, and organization design;
    • Data and application design
  • Knowledge of data privacy (HIPAA, COPPA, GDPR) and IT systems security (ISO 27001, OWASP)
  • Working knowledge of the following:
    • Business modeling and process design
    • Data modeling and management
    • Relational Database Management Systems (RDMS) and NoSQL
    • Cloud Technology Infrastructure (AWS)
    • Cloud Native Application Development
    • Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
    • Functional Programming Principles
    • Event-driven Architecture (EDA)
    • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • Technical depth in a technical domain and/or specific platform (i.e. JAVA, .NET, JavaScript)
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills; ability to decompose complex problems, prioritize issues, and implement pragmatic solutions
  • Strong communication skills such as presentation, elicitation, workshop facilitation, critical reasoning and complex issue delivery to broad audience
