IT Governance Manager

About the Job

The IT Governance Manager, non-Cloud Governance collaborates with strategic partners across Technology, Operations, and Finance to drive cost optimization (excluding Cloud). The role relies heavily on a blend of cloud resource technology, resource modeling, and traditional project management practices with emphasis on financial reporting, and costs, driving organizational change management, strategic planning and focusing on ongoing alignment between IT department activities and corporate objectives. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance/Finance Responsibilities:
    • Lead governance initiatives that are fully aligned to deliver value across FMI.
    • Lead process maturity efforts across IT (processes, policies) bridging budget solutions and operations with Finance.
    • Act as the primary point of contact across all FMI departments and Technology Platform Teams related to non-cloud cost management, and liaise with FMI Financial Analysts and IT Governance Program and Project Managers to reconcile portfolio roadmaps with Annual Operating Plans (AOP) budgets.
    • Provide cost analysis, comparison, and ROI (Return on Investment) of non-Cloud purchases.
    • Support Finance and Line of Business Owners in monitoring, predicting, and reducing infrastructure costs.
    • Communicate and elicit internal customer requirements as they relate to purchasing costs, developing repeatable best practices and improved financial optics.
    • Review and report planned vs. actual operating costs via live KPI Dashboards for Senior Leadership and other key stakeholders.
    • Support and educate the Product Owners, with respect to transparency and ability to derive budget costs.
    • Support broader IT Governance efforts to improve efficiency, deliver new innovations and increase collaboration with stakeholders across FMI.
  • Team Responsibilities:
    • Build successful stakeholder relationships within IT and across FMI by developing a keen understanding of business needs and acting as trusted advisor.
    • Identify team commitments and execute upon initiatives to ensure that teams are delivering upon their commitments.
    • Partner with the team in identifying and removing roadblocks and in leveraging organizational resources to improve delivery capacity.
    • Coach members of the team as needed to optimize team efficiency.
    • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
  • Project Responsibilities:
    • Perform neutral facilitation of work responsibilities and ensures all work is completed.
    • Facilitate discussion, decisions making, and conflict resolution as needed.
    • Initiative Planning and Management.
    • Define scope, plan, and schedule for regular and timely delivery of value.
    • Organize and lead project status and working meetings at established intervals.
    • Prepare and distribute progress reports on projects to applicable stakeholders.
    • Manage risks mitigation and issue resolution as they arise.
    • Address and correct deviations from plans.
    • Manage expectations of cross-functional stakeholders, including senior leadership.
    • Perform delivery planning for assigned projects.
    • Support the Senior Manager, Cloud Governance in managing customer expectations for deliverables, managing stakeholder communications.
    • Represent the program to all stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of delivery, assisting in external communication and initiatives to improve transparency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in financial operations and analysis (overseeing financial processes and reporting; identifying financial trends and savings)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial operations, budget analysis and reporting, or related field
  • Experience with enterprise-level change management
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, with a strong emphasis on expert level use of Microsoft Excel for statistical analysis
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience with process engineering and requirements gathering frameworks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerBI, CloudHealth, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Atlassian tools
  • Ability to leverage leadership and technical background to development teams
  • Ability to evaluate complex project risks and issues accurately and objectively
  • Strong knowledge of and skill implementing servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Foundation level cloud certification such as AWS Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals
  • Certification in ITIL or other IT Governance frameworks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels, including the executive level
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data
