ERP IT Platform Owner II

About the Job

The IT Platform Owner II owns service delivery (production support) for one or more IT solutions, understanding both the needs of the business and the technical platform in order to deliver business capabilities through configuration and platform administration. He/she provides day-to-day support for the IT platform and partners with vendors and the Engineering team, as needed, to ensure that business user needs are being met. He/she possesses a strong customer service mindset and is focused on creating and delivering value for our FMI business partners through technology. The IT Platform Owner II assists the IT Business Partner in forming and executing the technology roadmap with a focus on ensuring that FMI’s technology meet the needs of our business partners and stakeholders and aligns with business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Service Delivery

  • Provide support for day-to-day operations and availability of assigned applications and environments; provide support to internal FMI customers on assigned applications.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve production systems, acting as point of escalation for platform related defects and incidents
  • Partner with infrastructure to perform periodic maintenance of hardware as well as software updates to systems to ensure stable system performance.
  • Partner closely with vendor to stay in tune with releases, product capabilities and product roadmap.
  • Provide guidance and support to business partners on business capabilities and product roadmap.
  • Support vendor updates, service packs and releases, and proactive messaging for upcoming changes related to platform and possible changes needed to the application.
  • Manage training and communications to business users in alignment with release schedule.
  • Maintain platform and version information in IT inventory (CMDB).
  • Manage change control process and documentation for regulated and non-regulated platforms.
  • Author and revise documentation of environment and operation procedures.
  • Oversee regular audit of application licenses, application users and access details.
  • Other duties as assigned.

• Project Delivery

  • Facilitate and guide requirements definition workshops with key client application users.
  • Write clear and detailed technical user stories based on user feedback and project goals.
  • Break down complex business needs into smaller, more digestible chunks of work.
  • Design/configure and deliver new capability requests to business customers in a fast paced, Agile environment.
  • Actively manage the team's backlog and elaborate on user stories where needed.
  • Participate in daily standups, backlog grooming, retrospectives, sprint planning, and other scrum ceremonies - or Kanban, as appropriate.
  • Escalate blockers to Agile PM to facilitate efficient deployment of solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT Business Partner to build and track the technology roadmap to support business capabilities and strategy.
  • Provides thought leadership and guidance on IT platform(s) to ensure that we not only realize ROI but that we continue to realize value.
  • Key role in technology selection / participate in RFP / vendor demos
  • Accountable for all escalations to vendors
  • Coordinate IT change requests for upgrades and platform configuration changes.
  • Conduct platform demos to ensure alignment with business requirements and processes
  • Assist in preparing status updates and presentations.
  • Other duties as periodically assigned.


Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree

• 3+ years of experience in information technology, software development or engineering, with a focus on testing or requirements management

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, and/or relevant    


Become a subject matter expert on the constellation of ERP and related solutions utilized by the business.

  • Provide non-technical leadership by inspiring others, taking initiative, modeling professional behavior, and displaying strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Dynamics ERP or similar (Solomon, Lawson, SAP, Workday) consulting experience 
  • Technical competency in Dynamics ERP database structure, MS-SQL, SSRS, SSIS, Dexterity, & Power BI, Excel (VLOOKUP, Data Slicer, Pivot Table, Data Query)
  • Hands on experience in Oracle EPM reporting, budgeting, and planning application
  • Proficiency in the following Financial Systems Modules: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivables (AR), Accounts Payables (AP), Inventory Management (IM), Fixed Assets (FA), Purchase Order & Sales Order Processing (POP & SOP), Bank Reconciliation (BR).
  • ERP Add-On Solutions: Extender, SmartList Builder, Coupa, Nuvolo, ADP Payroll, Concur, and Blackline.
  • Integration tools such as Scribe, E-connect/SmartConnect, and Integration Manger.
  • Dynamics GP customization via Modifier and/or VBA


• Familiarity with requirements definition and management related to a software development life cycle

• Experience releasing Food and Drug Administration-regulated software

• Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data

• Understanding of the principles of a relational database, and fluency in SQL queries

• Strong interpersonal skills that include effective written communication, oral communication,  

   collaboration, and problem solving

• Patience and a desire to provide world-class customer service

• Ability to utilize root cause analysis to identify problems from symptoms and implement solutions inclusively with team and business partners

• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision; must be a self-motivated self-starter that can initiate and execute ideas

• Thrives on technical challenges and takes pride in solving them

• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
