About the Job

The People Consultant role encompasses two core functions in support of both the People Team and the business:

  • The delivery of advanced, specialized HR processes and targeted programs in coordination with Centers of Expertise (COEs) and People Strategy Leaders. This position delivers programmatic HR processes across the enterprise such as objective-setting (OKRs), annual reviews, compensation planning, and talent review as well as business unit specific projects.
  • Day-to-day support for client groups aligned to designated People Strategy team member
  • Key Responsibilities

    People Solutions Delivery & Implementation:

    • Facilitate and project manage the successful execution of repeatable, annual people processes and programs across the enterprise, including but not limited to:
      • Performance management (i.e. annual reviews, OKRs);
      • Salary and incentive planning;
      • Promotions;
      • Talent review;
      • Reorganizations

    • Partner with COEs (i.e. L&D, Total Rewards etc.) to determine best course of action for creating and delivering employee and manager training, communication plans and relevant materials

    • Develop and maintain implementation timelines

    • Enhance effectiveness of annual people processes year-over-year:

    • Assess and evaluate effectiveness of programs
    • Conduct retrospectives with key stakeholders to generate improvement ideas, and act on those ideas
    • Modify training and communication materials to drive engagement, adoption and completion
    • Partner with People Analytics and People Experience teams to report on completion rates


    • Rapidly build strong relationships and credibility across the People Team and within the business

    • Coach managers on people decisions related to annual processes leveraging best practices and organizational guidance.

    • Practice sound judgment in identifying escalation paths to People Strategy Leaders or Advice & Guidance.

    • Field and respond to employee and manager inquiries as needed.

    • Help managers with interpretation and application of employee policies & practices

    People Strategy Support

    Provide day-to-day resource support to People Strategy Leaders for unique business unit needs including but not limited to:

    • Create onboarding resources / support for manager assimilation
    • Partner with COEs to support career pathing conversations and development of technical competency frameworks
    • Assist with shift differential implementation
    • Project management support for the planning, execution and implementation of relevant organizational changes within client group(s)
    • Partnering with leaders on engagement survey data interpretation, team facilitation and action plan creation and follow through


    • Champion and steward FMI's unique values and ensure growing capabilities are aligned with these values

    • Prepare and maintain reports and presentations in order to facilitate better visibility into organizational health and people-oriented metrics

    • Other duties or special projects as assigned



    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree

    • 5+ years of human resources experience


    Preferred Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience as a human resources generalist

    • Fundamental understanding of HR processes and practices

    • Proficiency in Microsoft suite with emphasis on excel and PowerPoint

    • Experience:

    • Interfacing with employees of all levels
    • Managing cross-functional projects
    • Working in a fast-paced organization where prioritization and efficiency were key

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Strong business acumen and working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines; including but not limited to coaching, compensation, benefits, talent/performance management, employee engagement, rewards and recognition principles, and both federal and state employment laws

    • Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity to adapt to a fast-paced, rapidly-growing and innovative business

    • Understanding of the importance of employee and company data privacy
