Senior Analyst, Revenue

About the Job

The Senior Analyst, Revenue is responsible for providing financial and analytical support through in-depth analysis. This position owns and innovates revenue and cash processes to provide valuable, actionable insights to help inform decisions for the organization. The Senior Analyst leads the monthly clinical revenue and quarterly rate refresh process and collaborates cross-functionally and externally with billing vendor to provide reporting support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor cash collection and execute cash reconciling, trending, reporting and analysis while continuing to innovate the process.
  • Build systems and processes to support cash and revenue reconciliation from multiple sources.
  • Perform actionable data verification through trending, benchmarking and other methods to ensure data integrity. Escalate data integrity issues timely and see them through to resolution.
  • Maintain documentation and support of cash and revenue transactions for internal controls for monthly compliance.
  • Partner with the Accounting Team to reconcile all cash and revenue related profit and loss and balance sheet accounts, including deferred revenue and unbilled receivables.
  • Independently resolve accounting reconciliation issues and communicate issues and resolution to the Manager of Revenue and Reporting. Timely escalate issues if help is needed.
  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity in the cash/revenue process and create innovative ways to address the opportunities.
  • Investigate and resolve internal cash discrepancies with the Accounting Team or external discrepancies with applicable bank and billing vendor(s).
  • Advise on areas of concern and opportunities to apply best practices as observed during analytical activities.
  • Partner cross functionally with SI&A, R&A, Sales, Payer Team, CS, Lab Operations, and Finance Teams on revenue related matters.
  • Own collection and preparation of data from various sources at specified intervals for use in revenue analysis, adjustments and accounting reconciliations.
  • Provide statistical cash data for Finance Department.
  • Maintain and trend billing vendor invoices against budget. Escalate any unusual items timely.
  • Own the creation of the billing vendor budget.
  • Contribute to the AOP and LRP Revenue Processes
  • Lead the monthly clinical rate close process.
  • Lead quarterly clinical accrual rate creation.
  • Support audit walkthroughs, own PBC items and requests for additional information.
  • Create analytical analysis for quarterly write-off by identifying payment trends, collaborating within R&A. Drive change in claims process which influence the volume of write-offs.
  • Ad Hoc requests and special projects as necessary.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years of experience in a financial analysis, account or planning function

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a financial analysis, account or planning function in a healthcare related field
  • Experience working with external auditors and in a Sarbanes Oxley environment
  • Demonstrated history of professionalism and leadership
  • Demonstrated degree of self-motivation and flexibility through independent and collaborative functioning in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Ability to present complex information is an understandable and compelling manner
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across all functions of the business
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity and a commitment to values
  • Ability to lead through changing processes and work environments
  • Understanding of healthcare and payer-provider relationships
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and investigative skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, demonstrated in historic interaction with patients, providers, and individuals from all functions
  • Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data and medical and financial information
