About the Job

The SDET III on the Medical Reporting team is responsible for testing the FMI reporting platform and its components. You will work very closely with Quality Engineers, Test Leads and Software Engineering teams to validate Medical Reporting Applications. This position is responsible for testing software and ensuring high quality releases as well as bridging gaps in automation and helping augment existing automation frameworks and create new automation frameworks. Some of the activities include maintaining best practices, instantiation of automation scripts and working with various teams for integration testing. We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate creative thinking towards test architecture and enjoys working in an agile, fast paced and highly technical environment with controls implemented within a regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform gap analysis of current state of automation frameworks, functional testing process and testing infrastructure, utilizing a roadmap to strategize the future state of automation framework.
• Develop deep understanding of the product, engineering processes, review strategies, plans, test cases, test coverage, tools and concepts in order to effectively narrow down defects.
• Analyze and understand the current technology architecture, system interdependencies and application stacks.
• Involvement in test design for functional and non-functional requirements, test systems architecture discussions, proposes and discusses solutions to system and product changes to facilitate efficient and effective testing.
• Publish periodic reports based on target metrics so management may assess the quality state of the complete software system.
• Write and review automated tests, test harnesses application and services under test.
• Interact and collaborate directly with software developers, product managers, and business analysts to ensure proper development and quality of FMI applications and products.
• Participate in and conduct regular test case peer review and automation code reviews.
• Work with Agile delivery teams to understand product vision and product backlogs; robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation tests for functional, regression testing.
• Monitor the current test automation backlog and write acceptance criteria for new test automation stories.
• Perform tasks to meet project deadlines and work together with team to ensure project success.
• Conform to coding conventions and all aspects of the software development life cycle.
• Participate in scrum ceremonies and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s Degree AND 4+ years of professional software engineering experience OR 9+ years of professional software engineering experience

·       Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C#, JavaScript, Python or a similar scripting language)

Preferred Qualifications

·       Strong experience in creating automation test scripts using Data Driven framework and Page Object model to Model to test the web application using Selenium/Selenide web driver in Java/.net/#C.

·       Expertise in quality assurance processes, software lifecycle, test case planning, writing, execution & defect management and prepare test reports.

·       Strong experience with:

• using open source tools like Git, Jenkins or SonarQube
• testing applications on Cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS)
•  working in distributed SOA environments including REST services
• querying complex schemas and relational databases
• working within a DevOps model and continuous delivery model
• working in a regulated environment (SOX, HIPAA, CLIA, FDA)
• creating acceptance criteria for user stories and generating test automation backlog

·       Hands-on experience with agile methodology (SCRUM etc.)

·       Demonstrated ability to programmatically test products, and performance/load testing tools and drive testability and diagnostic ability into the product.

·       Proven knowledge of standard software quality assurance methodology, components, deliverables, and how these integrate within the software development lifecycle.

·       Understanding of configuration management tools.

·       Knowledge with one or more-unit test frameworks, such as MS Test, Junit or Test NG

·       Ability to maintain confidentiality of business and proprietary information.

·       Well versed with automated testing frameworks.

·       Ability to maintain confidentiality of business and proprietary information.

·       Understanding of HIPAA and importance of patient data privacy.
