Software Engineer in Test I

About the Job

The Software Engineer in Test I works with the Quality Engineers, Test Leads and Software Engineering teams to validate the Dynamics365 Applications, provide test automation scripts, and ensure high quality software.

Key Responsibilities

• Support QE Scrum team members for insprint/backlog UI and API automation, using Selenium/Selenide (Java) & RestAssured tools.

• Analyze test results; assist with debugging and troubleshooting of failed scripts.

• Prepare test data and participate in integration testing.

• Work hand in hand with developers and engineers on integrating automation in a Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipeline utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, Jenkins.

• Ensure the maintainability and quality of the product and automation code base by working with QE Leads to help establish clear technical standards geared toward reducing future technical debt.

• Maintain and monitor regression tests; evaluate quality metrics and holistic verification frameworks. Investigate, Triage, and Update failed automated test cases.

• Interface with team members and FMI technical leaders to understand systems and component specifications and recommend changes or corrective actions to facilitate more efficient and higher quality software or more effective testing.

• Provide additional direct contributions towards the future state of test automation.

• Other duties pertinent to software engineering in test as periodically assigned.


Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Sciences or a similar concentration

• 2+ years of experience as a software developer or software engineer in test

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C#, JavaScript, Python or a similar scripting language)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Selenium/Selenide and RestAssured tools

• Experience in quality assurance processes, software lifecycle, testing, planning, execution & defect tracking

• Hands-on experience with agile methodology (SCRUM etc.)

• Experience with:

  • BDD, TDD, Data driven and Hybrid automation frameworks
  • testing applications on Cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS)
  • working in distributed SOA environments including REST services
  • querying complex schemas and relational databases
  • working within a DevOps model and continuous delivery model
  • working in a regulated environment (SOX, HIPAA, CLIA, FDA)

• Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data
