About the Job

The Senior Director, Portfolio Leader is an integral part of the Global Marketing and Clinical Product Strategy Team within Foundation Medicine’s Commercial Organization. The position is responsible for developing an integrated, global marketing strategy for their on-market and/or pipeline product portfolio (eg. Central CGP Testing, Distributed Solutions, Monitoring, Technology Products). The Senior Director manages at least one product manager and works cross-functionally across stages of product development to ensure products meet all commercial requirements and are launched to achieve our commercial ambition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for developing long-term (5 year), mid-term (3 year) strategic marketing goals for FMI diagnostic portfolio and pipeline from a global (US and Ex-US) perspective with measurable impact on customers including providers, payers and patients.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow Portfolio Leaders to ensure development and execution of an integrated global portfolio strategy that maximizes value and patient impact of FMI’s products and services.
  • Accountable for cross-functional development of comprehensive Target Product Profiles (TPP) and Customer requirement documents that incorporate customer needs, reimbursement strategies, technical capabilities, operational constraints and financial considerations.
  • Work cross-functionally throughout stages of development to ensure products in development are addressing market needs.
  • Directly manage and develop at least one Product Manager who will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for one product within the portfolio.
  • Partner closely with colleagues in the Biopharma organization to understand and align on key stakeholder needs and support aligned pull-through of strategy into execution.
  • Serve as a critical member of the Marketing Leadership Team and collaborate effectively with Roche colleagues across GPS, Pharma International, Chugai, Diagnostics, and Flatiron.
  • Develop global relationships and build credibility with key internal cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Travel 30% of the time, primarily, as per organization, state and/or federal guidance in relation to the pandemic.
  • Other projects as periodically assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 12+ years of diagnostic or pharmaceutical product and/or portfolio marketing experience, 5+ years of which are in oncology
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree, such as a MBA or PhD within the Business, Science, Healthcare or Biomedical field
  • 15+ years of work experience in product marketing, preferably within medical device or diagnostics, of which 7+ years are in oncology
  • Globally focused marketing or sales experience and a deep understanding of the oncology end-to-end marketplace
  • Direct product launch experience including regulatory, access, marketing and sales
  • Experience:
    • creating impactful strategic marketing plans and developing value propositions, positioning and targeting in the life-sciences space
    • in healthcare with an emphasis on diagnostics, genomics, and/or biotechnology
    • gathering industry trends, generating deep customer insights and competitive intelligence to target the in-house laboratory testing market segment
    • building financial models representing complex market situations to facilitate data-driven decision making
    • building relationships with key customers, cross-functional partners, and external business partners
    • in next-generation sequencing technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data
