Internships are full time roles lasting between 10-12 weeks in the summer and offered to students currently enrolled in a degree program. We hire at all degree levels: Bachelors, Masters and PhD. We accept applications from international students, but visa sponsorship support varies by position and department. All internships are paid, so you must be legally authorized to work in the United States during your internship.

What can I expect during my internship at Foundation Medicine?

Interns will gain a greater understanding of Foundation Medicine through challenging project-based work, Spotlight Speaker Series with company executives, and the chance to connect with all employees by attending company-wide events. Interns will have a supervisor who will serve as a mentor.

Are internships paid?

Yes, all Foundation Medicine internships are hourly paid roles.

Are international students eligible to apply?

Are internships onsite or remote?

There are three different ways of working at Foundation Medicine and this includes internships. There are some roles that require onsite work 5 days a week. These are typically lab-based roles. We have a number of roles that are hybrid and will go onsite 2-3 days a week. Finally, there are some roles that are fully remote and can be performed from anywhere in the US. These are typically Technology roles.

What is the hiring timeline for summer internships?

In the fall, summer internships will be posted for Technology roles and roles seeking MBAs. All other roles will post in January and February. When an internship role is posted we allow about four weeks to pass before we review the applicant pool and begin reaching out to candidates. Most offers will be made by the end of March.
