"If I’ve learned anything from my time as a returning intern at Foundation Medicine, it’s that no matter what job I have in the future, it has to be meaningful. I will miss a lot of things about my time here, but working alongside people who are kind, intelligent and passionate will be what I miss the most. As I enter my last year at Boston University this fall, I am grateful to have had such a positive experience at a company that took a chance on me and values the diverse ideas interns bring."

From Intern to San Diego Bound

"One of my favorite parts of the job is my colleagues. Not only are they incredibly intelligent, but they’re kind and passionate. It’s amazing to see people from all backgrounds with different interests coming together for one common goal. Post-grad is difficult for everybody in terms of adjusting personally and professionally and I’m lucky that the community I’ve found at Foundation Medicine has made that transition easier."

Communications Intern: The Writer Behind the Stories

"My main job was to interview employees about why they love working at Foundation Medicine and then write about it. Those pieces would then eventually go online on our careers blog. During these interviews, I got to see how each and every employee is passionate about the work they do. I saw their eyes light up when talking about their role, the people they work with, and their passion for patients. I was honored to be able to write their stories and found it extremely humbling."

Career Development: Stephanie

"My time as an intern helped shape my career decisions. Seeing the important work done at Foundation Medicine helped me realize that this was the right path for me. After I graduated college in May of 2020, I was offered a full-time position as a Molecular Technician, before being promoted to a Molecular Technologist I. In my current role, I process patient samples by performing DNA digestion, extraction, library construction, and quality control assays."
