About the Job:
The IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) for Commercial and Medical functions at Foundation Medicine serves as the primary strategic interface between Information Technology and key business stakeholders across Commercial (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations) and Medical (e.g., Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Real-World Evidence). This role is responsible for ensuring alignment between business priorities and technology solutions, enabling scalable, compliant, and data-driven capabilities that support growth and improved patient outcomes. The BRM works closely with senior leaders to understand evolving business strategies, translate them into actionable IT initiatives, and drive delivery through structured demand management and governance processes.
A critical component of the role is building and sustaining strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The role requires documenting, maintaining, and continuously evolving multi-year capability roadmaps across Commercial and Medical domains, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, data strategies, and regulatory considerations. The BRM also provides thought leadership on emerging trends, such as omnichannel engagement, personalized medicine insights, and advanced analytics, helping the business proactively leverage innovation to remain competitive.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience with CRM applications (e.g., Salesforce Health Cloud, Veeva CRM), marketing technologies (e.g., marketing automation platforms, content management systems, websites), and enterprise data & analytics solutions. They demonstrate strong business acumen in commercial and medical processes, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset balanced with hands-on execution, excellent communication and influencing skills, and a proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration. The BRM must be adept at ensuring technology investments deliver measurable business value, improve customer and patient engagement, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
