About the Job:
The IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) for General & Administrative (G&A) functions at Foundation Medicine serves as the primary strategic liaison between Information Technology and business stakeholders across Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Facilities, and Corporate Affairs. This role is accountable for aligning technology solutions with business objectives, ensuring IT investments deliver measurable value, and enabling efficient, compliant, and scalable operations in a regulated life sciences environment. The BRM proactively engages senior leaders and functional teams to understand evolving priorities, translate business needs into technology strategies, and drive execution through a structured demand management and governance framework.
A core responsibility of the IT BRM is to build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels. This includes facilitating regular engagement forums, advising on technology-enabled process improvements, and serving as a thought leader on emerging digital capabilities, ERP optimization, and data & analytics innovation. The BRM is expected to document, maintain, and continuously refine multi-year capability roadmaps for each G&A function, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate strategic objectives.
The role also requires close partnership with delivery teams to prioritize initiatives, manage dependencies, and ensure successful implementation of solutions that enhance user experience, data integrity, and operational performance.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience supporting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms (e.g., SAP) and enterprise data & analytics ecosystems, with a strong understanding of business processes across Finance, HR, Legal, and other G&A functions. They demonstrate the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant insights and to influence decision-making through clear communication and data-driven recommendations. Success in this role requires a combination of strategic thinking, operational execution, and change leadership, as well as a proven track record of driving cross-functional collaboration, delivering technology-enabled transformation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
