Foundation Medicine is looking for an individual to join the BioPharma Marketing & Solutions team reporting to the Director, BioPharma Solutions Leader to support pricing and contracting strategy and analyses for all BioPharma solutions. This individual will also work closely with the Sr. Director, Business Operations & Customer Experience in BioPharma on contracting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop survey materials in collaboration with core marketing team to develop price sensitivity model to arrive at the optimal price range for all current and future BioPharma solutions
  • Synthesize collected data and employ two methodologies to determine optimal pricing with fully-functional MS-excel based workbooks and calculators. 
  • Adjust over time the pricing and contracting strategy, including initial list price, net price, and price evolution over time and for common partnering scenarios.
  • Collaborate with Finance to fully recognize all revenue potential of the contracts
  • Work on systemic application to revenue recognition for all contract types
  • Individual must help inform scope and approach to contracting with stakeholders
  • Prepare materials and documentation/communication of pricing to senior leaders 
  • Advocate for Senior Biopharma Leadership business vision for pricing and contracts
  • Ability to interpret and propose deal terms and conditions in order to articulate and advocate for pricing strategies
  • Responsible for ensuring the overall financial and contract integrity of deals
  • Collects and reports out Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Ensure proper policies and procedures are in place and manages escalations where needed
  • Responsible for successful rollout of all pricing and contracting programs and promotions
  • Promotes an environment and culture that encourages team to develop creative strategies to enable the organization to win profitable deals and grow FMI-BP market share
  • Highlights areas of synergies between pricing and contracting functions and drives initiatives to support a culture of harmonization

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or additional relevant experience
  • 5+ years working experience with at least 3 years of pricing specific work 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a life science
  • Master of Business Administration Degree or graduate (Master's +) Degree in a similar discipline
  • Pricing experience specifically retail pricing background 
  • Knowledge and experience working with the Van-westendorp & Gabor-Granger methodologies 
  • Primary research/financial modeling experience 
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible sales or marketing experience in a life science company or 
  • management consulting experience
  • Experience:
    • Leading, handling and mobilizing multiple partners (including top executives) and demands in a dynamic change orientated environment
    • Strategizing, designing and executing towards ambitious goals
    • Generating creative new approaches to solving business problems
    • Driving collaborative successes with limited mentorship
  • Excellent communication skills in presenting complex concepts to both executive leadership and operational teams
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills, takes a data-driven, analytical approach to draw upon business insight where information is incomplete
  • Self-motivated and independently results-oriented as demonstrated history of, and interest in, driving business impact in a highly autonomous role
  • Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy
