About the Job

The Associate Director, BioPharma Solutions is a key member of the Marketing & Solutions group, a group responsible for defining the future direction of FMI’s portfolio of offerings for Biopharma partners and accelerating opportunities to pull-through FMI’s solutions across the drug development value chain. The role will be responsible for one or more solutions to our BioPharma customers by developing a product portfolio level strategy supporting the lifecycle of product development including marketing requirements, launch and annual integrated marketing plans in order to drive successful product development with measurable impact on customer utilization once on market. This role works cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders and provides leadership to shape customer-driven, competitive offerings

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a product portfolio development and marketing strategy for a FMI diagnostic product from a biopharma perspective to deliver a measurable impact on customer utilization.
  • Partner closely with Biopharma Marketing Insights and Competitive Intelligence, Biopharma Partner Facing Leads, Development Lead as well as Clinical Operations and Data Leads to develop and maintain a deep understanding of the market, competition, customer needs and technology capabilities. Complement these sources by spending time with customers. Represent Voice of Customer (VOC) expertise across the organization and embed this perspective into all strategic product portfolio activities.
  • Demonstrate Industry & Pharma Knowledge: Understand market trends, insights, and competitive landscape; Strategically use market trends, insights, and competitive landscape to support business case models, analysis of key metrics that define success, forecasting sales and product demand, share performance, trends, competition, customer critical success factors and needs through interaction with customers for integration with programs to deliver profitable market share and drive business goals.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product portfolio strategy that includes market needs, customer requirements, initial assessment of resource needs, pricing strategy, business case, launch logistics and marketing strategy to accomplish business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including commercial product portfolio lead, to ensure strategic co-development and subsequent alignment on strategy, positioning, and overall value proposition of the diagnostic product within the Biopharma portfolio to guide product portfolio opportunities that contribute to both business units and Corporate objectives. 
  • Accountable for development of comprehensive Target Product Profiles (TPP) and Minimum Viable Product (MVP), as well as customer requirements and supporting Biopharma business documentation that incorporate customer needs, technical capabilities, data deliverables, reporting and operational constraints and financial considerations.
  • Serve as the champion and the voice of the customer internally to facilitate customer-driven trade-off decisions. Partner with Product Development, Clinical Data and Operations and other cross-functional teams to translate marketing and customer requirements into product requirements and technical requirements that satisfy market needs.
  • Develop launch plans and strategies to ensure delivery of product portfolio business objectives. Oversee the execution of launch plans, maintaining momentum, monitoring progress, and removing roadblocks where needed.
  • Create training strategy and material in collaboration with Biopharma Training Lead and deliver training to Biopharma Customer Facing Leads. Deliver integrated marketing campaigns across marketing resources to generate collateral for defined solutions responsibilities, including materials for use in customer facing presentations, and work closely with the Promotional Review Committee (PRC) to ensure that all materials are approved for use. 
  • Lead Cross-Functionally: Drive progress towards a common goal within and across teams at FMI; Communicate and collaborate effectively; Resolve conflicts cross-functionally; Navigate competing business priorities and dynamics 
  • Drive Strategic Impact: Achieve results that forward FMI and BioPharma strategy and OKRs; Demonstrate an action-oriented approach to problem-solving to meet and exceed annual objectives for FMI’s product portfolio.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or scientific discipline 
  • 10+ years’ experience in product, strategic management or similar in pharma, diagnostics or health technology 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in business or scientific discipline 
  • Experience in diagnostics development and commercialization 
  • Product management or marketing experience a plus 
  • Experience working in dynamic and growing teams; demonstrated ability to operate and deliver in a fast pace environment and with ambiguity 
  • Working knowledge of drug development and commercialization 
  • Depth of knowledge of genomics and RWD and their place in optimizing drug development 
  • Ability to translate customer/market needs into product technical and strategic requirements; ability to develop compelling, new perspectives on existing solutions 
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally and without authority 
  • Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and communication skills 
  • Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy
