Pathology at Foundation Medicine

We are a collaborative team of board-certified pathologists united by a shared commitment to diagnostic excellence and patient-centered care. With deep expertise across anatomic, clinical, and molecular genetic pathology, our physician-scientists work from state-of-the-art laboratories in Boston’s Seaport and Cambridge, Research Triangle Park, and Penzberg, Germany. Having collectively reviewed more than one million comprehensive genomic profiling reports across adult and pediatric cancers, our pathologists bring unmatched experience and insight to every case.

Our work goes far beyond data interpretation. Each specimen receives comprehensive review by subspecialty-trained pathologists who integrate tumor histology, immunohistochemistry, clinical context, and sequencing data to ensure accurate, nuanced diagnoses. We apply advanced microdissection techniques and maintain rigorous oversight at every step to optimize tissue quality and maximize sequencing success. This meticulous approach supports clear diagnostic resolution, informed prognostic assessments, and actionable therapeutic insights. And after results are delivered, our pathologists remain available to consult directly with treating physicians.

Joining our team means practicing at the forefront of precision oncology - shaping clinical decisions that impact patients worldwide.
